ack! missing photos

I think douce plume, the previous forum admin, must have deleted or cleared out her old images. I'll try to fix them later. I've fixed a few.

It was all the little icons representing new posts, announcements, who is online, etc. Not her actual posts.

Then you must have done a good job of fixing a lot of them because I didn't run across any of those.

I frantically downloaded some from of the old PUDDLE forum, where I'd uploaded many of them!

the icons are a little out of alignment. they are overlapping with the thread titles. is it because of the size? i can help with icons/make new ones.

It's because I don't know what I'm doing.

I don't think they used to be doll photos. I was trying to find some of the old sprites from the PullipStyle forum, thinking they might work better. No luck so far. Eventually they will need replacing. If you have some thoughts or icons to suggest, let me know!

They were Sal photos, but a lot smaller.
If you need any help, please let me know.

Is there a size specification?
Usually for our manga forum we just picked icons off a database. But we did make our own ones, too. I made some in the past and uploaded them for use until the forum had to be updated to a new version.

What pictures were they? What do you need?

Thank you. I think I've got everything fixed. I used a bunch of the Dal sprites created by neon ningyu (spelling?) for the PullipStyle forum.

There are broken links in the Dalopedia for anything douce plum posted that was hosted by Photobucket. Since this is a huge problem all over the place, I'm hoping Photobucket will reconsider their new policy on not allowing 3rd party hosting on free accounts.

That's useful to know but I think we will ignore it for the time being, hoping, as you say, that photobucket will change its policy. Fortunately I already have a paid account, or many of my photos would be missing also!

Den of Angels posted a notice you see when you enter the forum with a link to Photobucket's new TOS. I saw someone post there they had photos going back 10 years that are now not showing up. It seems like a really bad idea to me. Do they want to drive all their freebie account holders away? Because I bet a lot of them will jump to another photo sharing site that will let host for free.

I am confused because I don't pay $400 a year and my photos are showing up. I wonder if it is just a matter of time before mine break also.

So, they finally got around to me, and my many many photos on this forum are no longer displaying.

I'd like to fix at least all of the Dalopedia photos, but I don't know where to put my photos! I'm not sure flickr won't go the same route, and I don't want to have to do all that work twice. Any thoughts? (I am NOT paying $400 a year to photobucket.)

I use livejournal for my image hosting. In 10+ years, they've never broken links. But there's a limit to how much space you get in a free account (although I've never reached it-) I believe 1 or 1.5 gigabytes.

I'm using imgur. Try them. They're pretty good.

I hope I don't regret it, but for now I am using flickr and slowing fixing the Dalopedia section. Most of the photos are already uploaded there.
