March, "fun crafts for your Dal and Taeyang!" :D
Hello everybody! My dal May, and her big bro have been working really hard finding fun crafts for all your birthday dolls! They didn't want them to be too difficult and made them with items around the house (or easily obtainable.) Since March is Taeyang's birthday month, they decided to start with something your guys will all enjoy. (and Dal's too!)
So enjoy the first craft, "Headphones!"
Items needed:
Quarter machines capsules. x2
Thick and thin wire (colored if desired)
Construction or heavy paper
Felt or fake leather (remember to pick fun colors! ^_^)
a ruler, pen, and hot glue

May: Hey Taeyangs and Dal's of the forum! Guess what time it is...? craft time! ^_^
Okey doky, first you will want your Dal to measure yours and your bro's head to find the length to cut the wire. Size might be different because of wigs. For us it was 7in for Taeyang and 6 1/2in for dal.

Then be sure to try it on to make sure it fits.

Then have your other Dal cut out a strip of heavy paper of the same length, with a with of a half inch.

Next, hot glue the wire to the piece of paper. This will give you the headband shape you want.
(Worning, hot glue is hot! All Dal's must be accompanied by their owners when using hot objects. ~_^) Be sure to make sure everything fits just right before continuing.

Cut a strip of felt or fake leather wide enough to wrap around the band. Then choose the capsules caps of your favorite colors. Or you can even use food erasers too! (see picture) Next lay all your pieces out according to each design.

Next hot glue the felt. Start by first gluing the felt right on the edge. (to reduce bulk) Then with the other side, glue it so that it over lap it.

May: Ta da! We have a head band!

Ethan: For the eraser version open it up and glue the band to the one (you will need to glue each layer in place) And be sure to sneak some wire to plug into your favorite device. ~_^

May: for the caps, just hot glue it to band like so. Not "feel like so" silly. This is the Dal house forum remember.

Last but not least cut a piece of felt to fit around the ear, glue that and fun colored wire in place and you are DONE!! Feel free to add any cute stickers, gems, or ears at this time. I hope you enjoy the craft!

Sounds like fun! I have a few capsules around, I'll have to see if I can find them.

You are so creative! I really enjoyed the way your Dal showed us how to make these. I must try this out soon!

I am glad you both like the idea! Here are some other supplies that could work as well to get a similar effect.
For the chord you could use embroidery thread and add some craft glue as a stiffener.
Maybe for the thicker wire (for the head band) maybe two thick paper lips might work too?
For the head phones, you could use erasers, glue two circular pieces of felt together, plastic bottle caps, large buttons, or make a dome of of clay. That is all I can think of at this moment, but I well let you know if I get any other ideas. ~_^
The next two are simple felt/ fabric projects. I think that should work for everyone.

Anyone who makes the craft - be sure to post your photos! We all want to see (plus you'll get a raffle ticket for the prizes at the end).

They look Awesome!!
Like Chyntia wrote, we don't have hat type of capsules here in the Netherlands unfortunatly. But I'm sure I can find something to replace them and make a headphone for Tae or Dal.

Re: March, "fun crafts for your Dal and Taeyang!" :D
I finally found some time to give it a shot. I didn't have all the supplies that Doll Angel used, so I made some substitutions. I think the end product turned out fine. I had a couple of toy capsule end caps, but they were two different colors, and I didn't want the headphones to look too mismatched, so I used bottlecaps instead. I keep a lot of the cool looking bottlecaps from my beers, so I put a few to good use in this project. The only thing to watch out for is that the bottlecap edges could scratch. I really have to be careful when putting the headphones on and off a doll. Or I could figure out a way to buffer the sharp edges of the caps.
I used hemp cord & embroidery thread for the 'wire'. And instead of felt or faux leather, which I didn't have on hand, I used duct tape. Thanks for showing us how to do this fun craft, Doll Angel!

I only had time and supplies to make two headphones, one for Taeyang and one for Dal.
Here's Akira showing off the first one.

And Tekka-Maki with the second pair.

Here are some more alternative ideas to use instead of the caps:
1. You can cut 2 pieces of craft foam and glue it on either side. Or even glue fur on the outside to make fun earmuff head phones. ^_^ I have a pair like that.
2. Squinkies ball containers should work just as well too.
3. Large buttons.
I should have the next set crafts up sometime this weekend. It should be an easy one. All you will need is a needle, thread, fabric or felt. ^_^

Re: March, "fun crafts for your Dal and Taeyang!" :D
Hey Teyangs and Dals of the forum! Guess what, we have another craft on our hands today "Messenger bags"... are you ready?
What you will need is some:
1) Fabric or felt
2) A needle and some thread.

First you will need to cut out three pieces of paper to make the templates.
Piece 1) Length of 2 and a half inches, by With of 1 and a half inches.
Piece 2) Length 2 3/4 inches. With of 2 and a half inches.
Piece 3) Length of five and a half inches. Make as wide as a little over an inch.

Then cut the pieces out like so.

Sew piece 1 and piece 3 together down the side. When you have reached the bottom, cut piece 3 with a little extra to spare.

Next reconnect the piece you have just cut. Sew up just the corner and move on. You will finish attaching it once you start the other side.

When you are done you bag should look something like this. ^^

Finally you can start the next side. Attach piece 3 with piece 2 so that the bottom matches up lengthwise.

Sew the bag together just like you did the first time. However now you are free to close up the sides!

Finish sewing the sides up, and your Dal can help too ~_^

When it is finished your bag will look something like this.

Then you are free to turn it inside out and give the flap some Velcro or a snap. (To keep it closed when your Taeyang or Dal fills it up with too may goodies.) You can also hot glue or sew some ribbon, chain, or piece of leather as a strap! I hope you enjoy the craft!

Here is a quick picture of Nathaniel modeling the new Messenger bag.

I tried to come up with crafts (B-day gifts) that both Dal and Taeyang would enjoy. And there is a lot more to come! Later this week I hope to have the next one up which I think you might enjoy. I hope you all are having a great day and weekend!

Don't forget - if you make one of the crafts and post a photo, you'll get a raffle entry for the prizes at the end of our Dal celebration! And you don't have to post the photo in March.
I need to make one of the messenger bags. That's a craft I think I can handle.
