Theme 2 Trash to Treasure
This may not really "count" but I was inspired to do it by the challenge so I'm counting it!
I rescued a large thick piece of cardboard from work. I cut four pieces of fabric to fit, ironed them, and stapled them to the board (two on each side) so I'll have a few backgrounds ready at hand for quick photos. One of the layers is lace, and I can layer it on top of either the white or the yellowish with birds. I used it for the first time for these photos, and it worked pretty well.

Since I talk all my friends into hosting challenges, the least I can do is enter them!!Alliecat wrote:You have been busy.
Re: April Challenge--Stay at home, Craft at home!
These are some great themes and you guys were inspired to make some really creative things. The hot tub is really cool! And both the toilet paper crafts were fun!
Unfortunately, I totally flaked on participating, even those this is the kind of thing I love to do.
And a belated Happy Birthday to KiraKira!

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. Unfortunately, my seasonal allergies have been acting up. So I've just been laying very low and haven't even had the energy to come online.
----------------------------------------------------------
But! All the crafts you came up with are so creative and kudos to those of you who entered.
TrueFan--I love the chair, backdrop, trick-or-treat basket, and the tp roll dress! The dress looks like something you'd see on the fashion runway--not necessarily something for everyday use, more of a statement sort of fashion. Congrats for completing all four craft themes. You've earned 8 entries into the drawing.
Offgenemi--the hot tub looks so relaxing and realistic. I want one for myself! This earns you an entry into the drawing.
hugosdaughter--I love the skirt! Thanks for entering--you get an entry into the drawing.
Alliecat--The tiny tp roll car is very cute! The tinfoil dress and hat is an interesting piece. I'll give you three entries in the lucky drawing.
I'll post the results of the lucky drawing soonish.

Re: April Challenge--Stay at home, Craft at home!
Alright, so actually, I have enough prizes for everyone who participated. I just need to dig through my stairway closet to get to the plastic bin that holds all the doll hobby stuff. I'm not feeling up to that right now.
When I do get all the prizes out, what's going to happen is I will photograph them, post them to the thread and then contact the participants in order (from the way the random name generator picks them) and that person can tell me which prize they would like to select.
This may take some time, but it will happen, I promise!

I'm sorry your allergies have been so bad, KiraKira. I was a little worried since you hadn't posted on this thread in awhile!
No rush on the prizes! Whenever they arrive it will be a nice treat during these weird times.
At some point in the next few days I will use some photos from this challenge to make a new banner.

Re: April Challenge--Stay at home, Craft at home!
Alright. I have to return to work tomorrow so I better get this posted before I never get around to it.
Here's a screenshot of the random name picker results. So it looks like Alliecat picks her prize first, then Hugosdaughter, then Offgenemi, and then TrueFan.

And the prizes shall be selected from the following photo:

I'll be contacting Alliecat via PM, and once she makes her pick, then I'll contact the next person and so on. So hopefully an outfit you like will still be available when your turn rolls around.

Oh, eager to see what's available for me!
Are you going back to work at the library?

Yes, our branch manager called us back. We won’t be open to the public just yet though. I’m sure that’s coming soon. The malls here open on Friday! I’m concerned that could start to bring about more spread of the virus, but it is not possible to close down forever, according to the government.

Re: April Challenge--Stay at home, Craft at home!
We have contractors in our building replacing our air conditioning, but we are expected to start back when they are done probably June 1. We also will not have patrons in the building yet but will be doing curbside pickup of materials.
Re: April Challenge--Stay at home, Craft at home!
Yay!
PM'd you back over on DM. Thanks for hosting.
I heard my boss was going to be working at our library but no word on when it might open, & it will probably be quite a while before they call in casual workers
It's a hard call, when to open. I think Trevor Noah put it well on the Daily Show the other night... have to treat it like a sports injury. You try to do too much too soon and you end up hurting yourself again, maybe even worse.
(Says the person who shoveled compost & pounded in garden edging today despite having had a strained arm yesterday. I'm gonna regret that.... )

Re: April Challenge--Stay at home, Craft at home!
Just a quick update to say that all of the prizes were shipped today, so they should start trickling in soon, hopefully in the next week or two, but a little longer for Alliecat. Thanks so much for taking part in the challenge, and being good sports! I appreciate the creativity that went into the crafts!
If y'all could let me know when you receive your prizes, that would be great.

Re: April Challenge--Stay at home, Craft at home!
Samantha got her prize today
Flat in the package, it looked waaay big for a Dal, but, as you can see, it does fit her, and is super cute.
Mahalo, Kirakira!
