September: Photo / haiku challenge!
September is here!
What have your dolls been up to?
Show us with haiku!
Remember that time we had a challenge to write poetry for Dal?
A lot of fun stuff was posted. This month's activity is.... a photo/haiku challenge! Post a photo and write a haiku about it.
The usual rule applies about who can be in the photo -- at least one Dal, and whoever/whatever else you want to include.
There will be two prizes; stay tuned. Each photo & haiku combo you post = one ticket for the prize draw.
You can photograph/write about anything you want. Each week I'll post a theme idea and if you do one of those as well, I'll give you 2 tickets. Please state if your post is for one of the theme ideas. (Is it too hard to do the theme idea in the theme week? If people think so, I'll make the end of the month the deadline for all.)
Here's some basic info on haiku if you want some tips:
https://www.creative-writing-now.com/how-to-write-a-haiku.html
If you want to get really into it, more here:
http://www.shadowpoetry.com/resources/haiku/haiku.html
(I will not be enforcing all these details! If you post a photo and a little poem of 5/7/5 syllables, we'll call it OK!)
Samantha has been inspired to study more poetry.
(I think back when I picked September to host, it was for a little distraction from the fact that I cannot cope with the end of summer. So please post some entries and make me feel better.)
Aaaaannd, GO!

Yay, we're underway Cheers to True for starting things off.
(Offgenemi, did you make that? It's adorable.)
This week's theme is... ANIMALS. Your Dal + a critter (it doesn't have to be "real").
You can post any photo+haiku for one draw ticket, and an "animals" one for 2 tickets.
dissolving yourself
transform, make everything new
it's not so easy

Also she bites. Hard.

Ha! Those are cute!
That is most definitely the reason for MY frown too. Did I mention I can't cope with the end of summer.....? And the last line of the parrot haiku made me chuckle.

Re: September: Photo / haiku challenge!
You are all doing such a great job! I feel inadequate. This challenge is hard.

C'mon, you can do it!CornflowerBlue wrote:You are all doing such a great job! I feel inadequate. This challenge is hard.
Re: September: Photo / haiku challenge!
RAWR! hahaha, cute.
I might be scared by a rawr-ing alligator too
Cornflower Blue, it's just 3 lines... 5, 7, and 5 syllables... you can do it.
If you want to delve into how to do a "proper" haiku, there are links in the first post, but I'm not awarding style points
This week's theme is... BLUE.
Any subject you want, but the predominant colour in your photo should be blue. Because I like blue.
Theme haiku = 2 entries.... any-subject haiku = 1 entry.
I guess we'll make the end of the month the deadline for all?
the sea still calls me
her moods, her changing colours
life on land is dry

Re: September: Photo / haiku challenge!
Yup. Ika is supposed to have been a marine creature in a previous life (?), but she might have had some help writing thisTrueFan wrote:That's a very "Alliecat" haiku.
OK, prizes, y'all!
Nobody would enter if I offered something *I* sewed, so here are some nice little dresses that I bought instead.
At the end of the month I'll draw 2 names; first one drawn will get to pick; second name gets the other.
The black & white one has a variety of animal faces on it. The blue one has some little shiny stars across the lace at the neck.
Samantha agreed to model...
Although a bit short, they also fit Pullips.
Carry on haiku-ing! Looking forward to seeing what you guys post.

I am bad at poems,
It really is not my thing,
Still, I plan to try.

I though I'd put my excuse up there in haiku format. I really am gonna try to post at least one photo & haiku...by the end of September.

Re: September: Photo / haiku challenge!
Question for clarity--does the themed haiku need to be posted in the week the theme is announced?
Pretty, new outfit.
A shy little Dal smiling
for a quick photo.

Re: September: Photo / haiku challenge!
Since there haven't been tons of entries yet, I guess as noted above we'll make the end of the month the deadline for all. Just note if you're posting for the theme if it somehow isn't obvious.

Re: September: Photo / haiku challenge!
She looks adorable in her new set and haiku is very well written .
I actually wrote the haiku for both themes in 5 minutes so now I need to take matching photos.i am surprised it didn’t take longer I found a website that counts syllables

Yay KiraKira for joining in! She's very cute and the outfit suits her well.
Maisie's ombre-blue hair is neat. She looks quite chic in her hat.
