Hello from Canada
Hello everyone! I found this forum today and love it so far!!
I am new to Dals. I have been collecting Blythe since 2007 and have been a part of the Blythe community on Flickr and Blythe Kingdom. Although I still love Blythe I feel that my collection is complete. I am very happy with the girls I have and how many I have. Another big factor is price. It's hard when a new girl comes out and u love her and she's 400.00!!!!
I found Dal through Byul. I was browsing 'Blythe' on eBay and came across Byul Sucre and fell in love with her cute face and cotton candy hair. Once I started researching Byuls of course i came across Dals.... And yep, fell I love once again. I have 4 girls in the mail right now: Byul Sucre, Byul Hermine and Dals Joujou and Angry. I sold a few Blythes to get them . My Mom is getting me 2 Dals for Christmas too - Tweety and Lipoca. And although my Mom still buys me dolls, I'm 37 yrs old!!
I look forward to getting to know all of you

Re: Hello from Canada
Hi! Welcome to the forum...you and I are close in age, I'm 38. I think it's lovely that your mom buys you dolls!
We are going the opposite ways with dolls--I'm getting more interested in Blythe as time goes on, and I really want one in my doll collection, as I feel my pullip/taeyang/dal/isul family is complete!

Re: Hello from Canada
Welcome! I drifted from Blythes into Pullips (because Dals weren't weren't in production yet) and then into Dals. I felt the same way, that I had enough Blythes. Although I'd love to get a Middie one of these days.

Anyone who sells Blythe to buy Dals is definitely welcome here! My Dal collection will not be complete as long as they are making new Dals, but I do love my small group of Blythe dolls too. Welcome!
Re: Hello from Canada
Welcome! I'm 37 too!
I like some Blythes, especially for their outfits, and if I will ever get one that will be Ice Rune, that I like since I saw her the first time, then if I had to get two maybe the other one would be Very Vicky, or another one with a cute style.
I only own a Petite, Angel Apple, and some LPS ones.
I knew Byul just a few after Dal, they were listed as Dal models on Yes Asia as they were starting to be released.
Great choice on your dolls! Angry and JouJou are two of my three top faves, and Hermine is beautiful, Sucre is also very cute! Lipoca and Tweety are also great Dals with unique face-ups.

Re: Hello from Canada
Thank you all so much for the warm welcome!!! Yea, it's funny how tastes change sometimes. I always swore I would never collect anything but Blythes but the prices are getting out of hand. I keep my girls nearly stock (I sand matte their faces) but all the new girls seem to have quality issues and then there is the influx of fakes. Let's just say its not as fun as it used to be. That's not to say that I don't love and play the ones I have though!!!
My Mom used to collect Blythe with me and now we have both bought Dals and Byuls. I borrowed one of her girls so I could make a dress. 2 of my girls should be here in a day or two. I'll post a picture of the dress over in the "I Made this" section.
*** oops, looks like I can't post a pic for 7 days

Re: Hello from Canada
Hi there! Welcome to the forum
Really love your choices! Joujou has such a sweet adorable face up, she's definitely a cutie (would absolutely love another one...) and Angry has a quiet maturity about her
Yay for generous parents; I'm 30 and so far my dad, mum and OH have all bought me Dals (in fact, think dad may have recently purchased another one! )
It's a shame you can't post pics for a whole week

Re: Hello from Canada
OK, I think this is why you can't post for seven days:
"Unauthorize members with less than a week registration to post external links and emails."
This protects us from spammers flooding the forum with external links. So, although it's unfortunate for new people, I'm hesitant to change it. I'm on another forum that has huge problems with spammer links.
Thoughts?

Re: Hello from Canada
I think that seven days is a reasonable amount of time to wait, so perhaps the rule should be left as is. The spamming problem that occurred in the summer on that other forum was really ridiculous and out-of-hand! I know this is a smaller, cozier forum, and I'd hate to imagine it overrun with spammers.

Oh it's no problem really! I can wait! I think it's a good way to sort out the bots from the people.
Re: Hello from Canada
@TrueFan; unfortunately I'd be inclined to agree with KiraKira on keeping the 'seven day rule' -Sorry Mandylynn!
@Mandylynn; In the meantime we can still stalk, I mean, *follow* you on flickr
Oh, The dress is totally gorgeous!!!! <3. Really really pretty! (looks like it's being modelled by Byul Cocotte?). Love how your mum collects dolls tooooo

Did I miss the flickr link some where?!? I'm such a picture junky. I love looking at everyone's dolls.
Re: Hello from Canada
The dress you made is so sweet...I adore the colors! And I love your Blythe Shannon--we share the same name!

Re: Hello from Canada
Oh wow!
You're mom is even cooler now. I love all of her work, but that newest dress is so adorable. I really like her knits though.

Re: Hello from Canada
Thank you! I made the dress. I crochet only and Mom *mostly* knits though not always. She has made me tons of Blythe Clothes though she has gotten away from making doll clothes. I'm going to have to figure out a way to entice her to make some Dal clothes now
Re: Hello from Canada
