Current state of my antique doll collection

Yesterday I organized my antique doll collection. They are all in one curio, along with a few non-antique dolls, and I have a policy that if I buy a new one I have to resell one I own. (I like to be able to see them all - I don't want to overly crowd them.)

They are all German, mostly common dolls that can be had for under $100 (most around $50). But I love their sweet faces!

All of the dolls on the top shelf of the curio (inside the glass) are the same mold - Florodora. She is my favorite as you see, from Armand Marseille. Three of the tall dolls on top are Florodora also.

What a lovely group of vintage girls! I see a Dal managed to sneak in with them.

Yes, Dal has to push her way into everything I do. That's Dire, an "antique doll" custom from Myufish and KerriaRosette.

That's a nice collection of beauties! The tiny dolls on the chairs up at the very top--are they vintage too?

Nope - two Luts Tiny Delf Alices, one Lati Mystic Sophie, two Secretdoll Persons.

Very nice collection. They look so delicate. It's interesting to see how dolls have changed over the years. And I love the teeny armchairs!

I'd love to see more BJD and fashion doll collectors add an antique doll or two to their collections. Some of the antique dolls actually ARE BJDs! They remind me of what it must have been like to have only one, precious doll.

The tiny chairs are pin cushions. I have found them at Tuesday Morning and Jo-Ann's. They are perfect for small dolls.
