I guess as women we are used to our strong confident roll models being stuffed in to skimpy outfits. I wonder how different television and film would be if they all wore paper bags instead like the paper bag princess. I think Janie is your best role model David, she just gets on with things and doesn't even complain about all the chores she has to do.

I wouldn't classify the outfit as totally skimpy.  I mean... well... now that you mention it, I guess there's not a lot to it. Must be a cost-saving move on the part of the manufacturer. Or The Empire.

Ooohhhh... I'd forgotten about those "puzzle package" subscriptions! I recall reading about one of those a few years back. Have you ever subscribed to one?

I just happened to have two parcels arrive almost simultaneously. The Confident Role Model figure was a pre-order from eight or nine months ago that I wisely paid for in full back when I had money. The second parcel, the big one, was a recent eBay purchase that the seller, who must need money for Christmas, offered me a screamin' deal on, dropping the almost reasonable original asking price by nearly half, so even though I'm broke I managed to scrounge together funds from under the sofa cushions etcetera to take advantage of the opportunity.

Or maybe it's confident and competent women executives who understand that they can rake in big profits from juvenile fanboys by issuing  bikini babe action figures under the socially acceptable guise of female empowerment.

Not being a follower of superhero characters in such outfits, it's a nope from me.  I remember being quite peeved at what was available for women's pirate outfits too.  Busty skimpy wenchy skirts and low-cut blouses, nope again.  It took a long time to find something I liked.
Female action characters in useless costumes is one of my pet peeves, I think!

I finally opened one of the Bratz Blind Box mini figs. To my surprise, I found that each box contains two figures! The financial impact of the purchase seems somehow less significant now!

This is the second of two mini figs, which include miniature reproductions of the original Bratz packaging, that was included in the purple plastic blind box container. The mini figs are wedged back-to-back in the plastic cube.

Those mini figs are extremely cute.

Doesn't it just figure: I purchased two "blind box" sets, and of course the second one is a duplicate of the first.

There are TWENTY-FOUR different figures in this series... and I got duplicates!

That's why I dislike "blind box" products.  

I was briefly excited when I opened the first box and saw how cool the little figures are, complete with miniature replicas of the original Bratz packaging. Upon opening the second container and finding exactly the same figures, my enthusiasm quickly ebbed.

I saw the Bratz Minis at Walmart yesterday, marked down from $9.99 to $7.00, and I was briefly, but only briefly, tempted. I don't really need another duplicate set of the ones I already have, which is almost certainly what I would end up with.

I'm sorry you got dups. I'm not a blind box fan either.

(But they are still very cute!)

It's fun to see how many people have those little gift boxes. I got mine second-hand so I don't know where they come from, but I think I've seen 3 other sets of them this season

I found the gift boxes at a discount store called Dollar Tree. I think there are six boxes per package.

A member on one of the action figure forums requested a portrait-style photo of the Doctor Evil figure to include in a project. I used the opportunity to snap a few action figure portraits.

I know the "action figure" photos aren't as popular as "doll photos" but A DOLL A DAY 2022 is winding down, so whateverz.

A company called Round2 tried to revive the Captain Action line of figures in the early 2000s with redesigned versions of the characters. Like the Playing Mantis line a few years earlier, the Round2 effort failed within a couple of years.

In my "story universe," I refer to the Round2 Doctor Evil as "Cousin Doctor Evil."
