chatGPT prompt:
write a poem in response to a prompt on a doll-collecting Internet forum that asks for a poem about poems about dolls.
Oh dolls with porcelain skin so fair,
In homes they sit with gentle care,
Collected by enthusiasts with delight,
Their beauty brings joy day and night.
Poems about dolls, they paint a scene,
Of childhood memories and fantasy dreams,
Where dolls come alive and play with glee,
In a world of wonder, just for me.
With lace and ribbon, delicate and fine,
Their clothes sewn with care and divine,
They stand in rows, a sight to see,
Each one unique, with their own beauty.
Their eyes, a window to the soul,
With stories waiting to unfold,
Of adventures in a world so bright,
Where love and laughter, always in sight.
Oh poems about dolls, they are a treat,
Bringing back memories, that can't be beat,
A reminder of a time so pure and sweet,
When the world was a magical place, complete.
So here's to the dolls, with gentle grace,
And the poems that sing of their sweet face,
May they always bring a smile so wide,
And be treasured, now and forever, inside.
When I think about the hours I invested over the course of several days in that poem about buying the Bratz dolls I feel stupid. The AI robot cranked out the Doll Poems poem in about forty seconds.
I would have been pleased with myself if I had come up with:
Their eyes, a window to the soul,
With stories waiting to unfold,
Of adventures in a world so bright,
Where love and laughter, always in sight.
Because that's a fairly accurate summary of why I do the Doll a Day thing and why I find the dolly hobby to be fun and engaging.

Re: 2023 challenges
OK, poetry challenge in March?
davidd, your poem was great and the fact that you spent so much time on it automatically makes it worth more than an AI ejecta with a lucky turn of phrase, because A REAL PERSON WROTE IT!!
Srsly, these poetry/news bots are creepy!
(And then I thought of an elected official or 2 that could be replaced with one of these and probably no one would notice )
