Dal-icious and Byul-tiful 2018 rules

Announcing the 2018 Dal-icious and  Byul-tiful photo contest!

There will be seven challenges, 10 days each, starting September 1. A winner will be chosen for each of the challenges and a grand prize winner will be chosen at the end.

The Grand Prize Winner will receive a Dal Manuel! She is due to be released around the end of the contest.

To enter, choose one Dal or Byul, regular size or mini, to be in each of your contest entries. Post a photo of the doll and a description of her in the Introduction thread.

Anyone can enter. However, you must be a member of the Dal House Forum. You also must have at least 5 posts and an Introduction thread (in this area of the forum: https://thedalhouse.forumactif.org/f3-introductions ).

You will not eliminated if you miss a round. However, your best chance of winning the contest is to enter as many rounds as you can. Points will be awarded for each round you enter. (Participation points will not be the only factor in the Grand Prize Winner, however.)

Photos must be new and taken for the contest, but they can be posted anywhere you like - Instagram, Facebook, whatever. They must also be posted in the challenge thread on the Dal House Forum.

(Note, there is an app called Topic'it that can be used to post directly from a device to the forum. Please note however that the photo will need to be resized so the entire photo shows on the forum.)

Entries will be judged on creativity, reflection of the challenge, the spirit of fun, and the composition of the photo. This is not a best photographer challenge.

The rules for each challenge may vary in terms of what other dolls can be in the photo, what photo editing techniques can be used, etc.

Are there any limits concerning photo editing? Some younger folks may be accustomed to adding all kinds of filters and enhancements from their phones.

I would say each host can decide that. However, I will note that this is not a photo editing contest. So doing too much editing will not necessarily work in a person's favor.

Extended the deadline to 9/10, as long as you post your intro and enter the first challenge by that date.

I just wanted to note that while this is not an elimination contest, you will receive participation points for each round you enter. So even if you don't have time to do your best work, I still encourage you to enter every round.
