Ahh, it's so nice that you live so close to such a nice pond! That looks like the perfect spot for photos. I can't wait to see pictures of your new haul!!

The Rock makes an appearance!
I re-visited this response two or three times, and each time I sat here looking at that bold print line and waiting waiting waiting for a picture of actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to load while wondering if my internet connection was having a problem. Then, tonight, I'm watching the lame treasure hunting show "The Curse of Oak Island" on television, and the treasure hunters find a boulder in a muddy swamp... whoo hoo, that's riveting television!.. and it occurs to me: The Rock is the rock on the shore of the pond... literally a big rock... appearing once again as a setting for doll photos.
Now I'm fretting over my personal cognitive decline rather than wondering why I'm not seeing a picture of a pro-wrestler-turned-actor.

Re: Cat's Dolls
OK so first up on the "breaking-my-new-years-resolution" list. I bought Ever after High Cedar Wood. I'm calling her Rowan. I used to own her years ago but I gave her and a bunch of other dolls to my Step daughter when she was 8. She's now 15 and I asked her if she didn't want them could I have them back but her mum threw them all out (She didn't even donate them to a good cause-argh!) So I'm making a list of the ones I miss the most. This one only came with dress and socks, luckily I still have a lot of the accessories although sadly not the little cricket hairclip- this was my favourite ever MH/EAH accessory ever. Still I'm glad to own her again. I gave her horrible sticky hair a good wash as soon as she got here!
Look at that face! I want to pinch her cheeks!
2nd here is sneak preview of the other thing I bought. You will have to wait a little longer for some proper pictures though .

You mean.. ... .. the "RocK' comment was a response to an earlier photo... .. ... and had nothing to do with the rock by the pond?!?
Okay, now I'm really concerned about my brain failing!
Cedar was one of the few EAH figs I almost bought, way back in the day. Her wood-grain body sculpting looked super cool. I'll be looking forward to seeing how well you manage to clean this one up.
And... a GIANT DRACULA?!? That's leaving us with an intriguing cliff-hanger teaser!

Cedar wood is definitely worth it, her wood grain body is beautiful and a really nice texture.

Heh, I have days like that. Maybe that book damaged your brain and made it different after all!davidd wrote:

!
Yay for getting a favourite doll. I’d be really steamed about them being thrown away too. Ever After was a line that I thought I might risk getting drawn into… before Rainbow High
Will be interesting to see your other new arrival. I bet the kids will be excited too.

Re: Cat's Dolls
SD said she didn't want to take anything from her mums because it was too dirty but there was alot of stuff there I had also bought her for her pullip so I told her take it any way and I'll clean it. I used to work in a 2nd hand toy shop cleaning toys, that was a good job but the people turned out to not be so great but that's another story. Anyway pretty much as soon as SD moved out her mum got rid of lots of her stuff. Pretty frustrating.
In many ways I liked EAH more than MH alot of them had very pretty faces and their clothes were easier to share with other dolls so I'm sad they discontinued the line.
I got 2 outside photos today. Rowan definitely needs her hair restyled though. Back to the duck pond.
The Dormous by the sea. I think this hat is a bratz hat. It's a pretty good fit.
Bonus picture of a mermaid we spotted in someone's garden on the way home.

Re: Cat's Dolls
Oh, look at that. A daffodil coming up already! Sigh…
Hey, I think I have that shirt! Or something very close to it. I’ll have to go look. “The dormouse by the sea” sounds like a cute kids’ book. Wind in the Willows style.
A second hand shop devoted entirely to toys sounds wonderful! And how great to be able to clean them up and give them another life. Sorry to hear the people weren’t great though.

It's still very cold here and keeps Dipping in to the minuses but there are a few signs of spring creeping in which is nice. The dormouse by the sea does sound like a kids book!
I thought the mermaid looked a bit scared of the big stone elephant.

Cute! I like the second one best, with the blue sky and warm light. Bummer about the weather. Hope you get some sunshine.

Re: Cat's Dolls
Ahh, she's adorable~! She looks like a little monkey in that tree!
Our weather has been wild too. We got a bunch of SNOW a day earlier than expected on our trip and got stuck at our hotel for a whole day because the roads weren't plowed. Luckily we have a suite with a kitchen so we were able to cook our own meals! But next week looks much nicer!

She is the best monkey for climbing trees.TrueFan wrote:There is something about Monomonos in trees that is SO CUTE!
We took a trip this weekend to see my mum. This was 100+ miles to the very top of Scotland on some of the scariest roads. Not helped by the fact we were hit by storm Kathleen. Luna came too.
We went to John o groats which is the furthest point north on mainland UK. It was impossible to get a good picture of Luna because of the wind.
Here's some pictures of the scenery.
We also went to a petting farm but didn't stay long because it was so cold and everyone was grumpy. The sleepy mice in the gift shop were cute but I didn't buy one just took a picture.
Unfortunately my partner took a bad reaction to the dog hair the 2nd day we were there so we ended up leaving early. Mum said the sun came out literally as soon as we left. 200 miles of driving in 24 hours! But it was worth it to see her for abit. My sister made her this book nook for her birthday and I was very impressed.
Thanks for reading.

That book nook is so cool! I've been eyeing a similar one, but I'm not sure I have the patience or the skill to put it together. It looks like it took a lot of work!
Re: Cat's Dolls
It was like public art sculptures. The sheep are all over Scotland with hand painted designs. They previously did cows, lions and squirels and also oor wully. The book nook was very cool although I think little prying hands might have knocked some pieces loose.

Re: Cat's Dolls
It’s fun to see the scenery and hear about people’s adventures in different parts of the world, especially when dolls are involved
Was the book nook a kit? The statue lady at the lake made me smile. Glad you made it safely in spite of what looks like some not great weather. Hope your partner’s allergy cleared up quickly.
Wait wait… Storm “Kathleen”? Like, named tropical storms? And we are already to “K“? That seems kind of early…
