Very cute sweater, is that one of the ones Aldi had? I'm limiting my store visits, so I did not attempt to visit an Aldi for them. I tried ordering a set off of Amazon, and those were just a bit too small for Smart Dolls. The second set I got fits much better, but they are not so much Christmas sweaters and winter patterns.

It is, isn't it cute? Unfortunately Freedom has no pants so I couldn't take a full body photo.

I'm... uhhh... feeling kinda duhhhh! I'd forgotten that there is a Smart Doll section on The Dal House. And I even have a topic for my Smart Dolls here!
Oh well... here's a random single pic for this topic:

I didn't think I could love blue Relentless more than I already did but I was wrong! New wig and eyes.

I had one extra Smart Doll head, Dimension in Cinnamon, and I bought her a secondhand body.

Your Dimension is so pretty! I love that long dark brown hair... in bangs! And her summer sun dress is adorableness in fabric form!
A) How many Smart Dolls do you have now?
B) Will a Smart Doll group photo be forthcoming?
C) Where did you find a second-hand Smart Doll body?

Thanks! The wig is from DallasDollCo. Offgenemi made the jumpsuit. I have six Smart Dolls now and am still hoping to get one in gray. I bought the secondhand body in the Facebook Smart Doll Trades and Sales group.davidd wrote:

Six?! Are the Dals worried about losing their dominant spot in the hierarchy?

Ha. Despite the size difference, the 300 Dals could take the Smart Dolls with their eyes closed. If they could close their eyes.davidd wrote:TrueFan wrote:I have six Smart Dolls now....

Re: Any Smart Doll any time
Hahaha… that was my first thought too, that there would have to be a lot more smart dolls to compete with the Dals
… Although, you would only need half as many because they are twice as big.

Y'know, funny thing about relative scale. I was doing some quick math the other day while working on one of my diorama projects. Tell me if I figured this correctly.
Assume we are working in Dal-Pullip scale, which is 1/6 scale.
For ease of number-crunching, let's say we're making a cube-shaped closet. We go with 1ft x 1ft x 1 ft -- equivalent to a 6-foot cube-shaped closet... which is weird, I know, but it makes the numbers easy. Replace 1ft with 30cm if you're so inclined, but you'll end up with really big numbers.
The volume of our Dal closet is then 1 cubic foot. (28,317 cubic cm)
Now let's scale up our closet to Smart Doll size, or 1/3 scale. We don't just double one dimension. We have to double all three dimensions. We get 2ft x 2ft x 2ft, or a total of 8 cubic feet.
So "doubling" our scale from 1/6 to 1/3 scale results in an 8-fold increase in cubic volume!(226,534 cubic cm)
Which explains why my attempts at constructing Smart Doll dioramas or furniture have become untenable due to space considerations.
It works the same if we scale down from our 1/6 scale figures to 1/12 (6 inch tall) figures. We only need .125 cubic feet of space (3539 cubic cm) for our closet diorama, or 1/8 as much space as with Dal-sized figs.
Using a factor of 8... TrueFan still has only 48 "Dal equivalents" (by volume) in Smart Dolls... but now they're only outnumbered by about six or seven to one rather than sixty-something to one! There will need to be close to 40 Smart Dolls for them to have a volumetric advantage. So the Dals are probably safe... for now. But maybe they should sleep with at least one eye open, just in case.
