I did not love this set. Purple cupcakes, purple frosting, purple sprinkles - boring. I found some white frosting left over from another set but it just turned purple against the cupcakes, and I used some leftover Halloween sprinkles that don't look great. There is really only one cupcake I'm satisfied with.
I'm out of practice, and I realize that if you don't practice you lose whatever effective techniques you've learned.

LOL they still look amazing though (i like purple)
Re: A doll as often as I get around to posting...2024
Thanks, I like purple too but these are just too much purple!
Re: A doll as often as I get around to posting...2024
Oh that is a lot of purple. Which series are these from? I recently tried the spa series and really messed up the bath bombs.

I found the potions took a very long time to cure and some people were saying its new resin which requires a higher uv light bulb but I think it's a con to get you to buy the torch. The bubbling over cauldron actually looks quite cool though and the potion came out nice.

I still have only been using sunlight, and the new resin does take a long time to cure. The cauldron had been in the sun for five hours and the resin was still tacky to the touch.CatDragonStorm wrote:I found the potions took a very long time to cure and some people were saying its new resin which requires a higher uv light bulb but I think it's a con to get you to buy the torch. I have five more Harry Potter balls so we'll see how those go.

I wanted to do a frozen moment type thing with the hello kitty ramen but it was under the uv light on and off for days and is still tacky. It kind of took the joy out a little tbh

The Skele-Gro was easier and less stressful than the Amortentia. It was much easier to get the little balls through the funnel.
However, they should have made the skeleton bottle easier to see through! You can't even see the potion! I filled a small glass bottle with the leftover potion as you can see; all the green balls rose to the top though.
The candles are adorable.

Yea I watched a YouTube for this one and was extremely disappointed with how solid the bottle was. I would be tempted to not even fill it and save the resin for another project. While I am enjoying the harry Potter ones, mainly for all the tiny ingredients bottles and a dream of an apothecary diorama I will never get round to making. I definitely feel they have taken a lot of creative liberties with the potions included. Pollyjuice was alot more pleasant looking in the miniverse version than the movie version

That's a lovely pumpkin. Mine are both quite elongated.
I have nice recipes for pumpkin-guts muffins, soup, and pumpkin-chocolate-chip cookies if you'd like them. I guess it will soon be time for my annual rant about the waste that occurs around Halloween. You can use almost every bit of the pumpkin!

I have been meaning to post some mini make it's too but its been absolutely mad, bonkers, drama this week. What are the bits in the slug repellent? They look a bit like autumn leaves.

Sorry about your drama.CatDragonStorm wrote:I have been meaning to post some mini make it's too but its been absolutely mad, bonkers, drama this week. What are the bits in the slug repellent? They look a bit like autumn leaves.
In the potion, there is slender green yarn that looks great, and plastic flower petals and leaves.

Congrats on the new arrival! I like her wig.
Cat, hope your coming week is less bonkers.

Smart Dolls are 1/3 scale, so about two feet. She's tall, and heavy!jahzteen wrote:oh she's really pear-shaped!
how tall is she?
Re: A doll as often as I get around to posting...2024
Oh my gosh she is GORGEOUS! I love the wig you chose for her! I absolutely love her confident and slightly mischievous expression. She's super pretty!
Re: A doll as often as I get around to posting...2024
Thank you! I'd been holding off on getting a pear but someone's photo of Me Myself and I convinced me. The wig came from my big box o'wigs that I bought over the years for Pullip and friends. I need to find a silicone wig cap.
Re: A doll as often as I get around to posting...2024
How are you liking the pear-shaped body? I have some silicone wig caps, if you're up for another Christmas exchange I'll throw some in She's really beautiful and I love the dress.
@Alliecat- will update you all on crazy bonkersness on my own posts soon. Just still a bit strung out.

It's interesting. It certainly is more realistic. I'm not going to trade in my classic Smart Dolls though.
