Dressing Dolls

How long does it take to dress a doll?

All day and well in to the night, that's how long!

I've spent hours looking through storage tub after storage tub, trying to find bits and pieces that I know I have, or I think I have, or I hope I have somewhere.

I suppose it's not the dressing of the doll that takes so long. It's finding the bits and pieces to dress the doll with.

I got a metal lunchbox that I have used to organise all Alice's outfits for going away and now I sort of want one for each of my dolls as otherwise I'm like you Davidd, hours of raking through boxes for things I can't remember if I stil have. I like your wardrobe department Alliecat, it looks fantastic. So does the tikki bar.

Oooh... a separate container for each doll and her (or his) accessories! That sounds like an interesting idea... until I begin to over-think it, and find myself wondering what to do with items that are shared or items that are not yet assigned or general purpose items.

Professor Gangrene! My sister used to have a gangrene doll whose tummy oozed green stuff when you squeezed him, she also had a sweating wrestler toy and a general knack for finding the weirdest grossest toys. I loved stealing her action man vehicles for my barbies though, I hated how everything barbie got was pink and girly. I wish I had a robot to push the pram that would be handy! I'm sure Professor Gangrene will be a doting father Laughing

I've seen pictures of the version of Professor Gangrene with the green goo in his tummy! I have read that now, more than twenty years later, most of them have either leaked or dried up. Sad.

Some years ago, a doll photographer on Flickr actually put together dolls meant to represent Professor Gangrene's two daughters! It was pretty funny!

The ~~Great~~ Pretty Good If It Works Escape

Action Man Felix hopes the trapdoor in the ceiling is, like in the movies, conveniently not bolted.

Did'ja ever notice how, in the movies, a trapdoor in the floor is always cleverly hidden underneath a rug with a sofa or table weighting it down, but when a trapdoor in a ceiling is required for a desperate or cunning getaway, it is rarely locked and never encumbered by carpets or furniture?

Yeah, well, Felix has noted that, too, so he's feeling pretty confident at this point that his attempt to escape from the catacombs will prove successful.

He probably would have been better off if he had not wandered away from the guided tour in the first place.

Looks like Felix made it out of the catacombs!

Unfortunately, he promptly got mugged and somebody stole his clothes. He was able to procure another uniform, albeit of lower quality, from a nearby thrift store, before wandering off in to the forest in search of the jerks who nicked his knickers.

Been out of town!

I started putting all my outfits in a library card catalog I snagged, but I've long overrun it so I too have to seek out specific things I *know* I have.

Professor Gangrene? I'm not acquainted with the professor but - eww.

I think the new Dungeons & Dragons movie had some stuff about what's in the way when you pop through things magically. Can't remember if a trapdoor was involved.

It's an Wild Hearts fig I've had for a long time, wearing parts of an outfit from a 1980s Hasbro Maxie doll.

The different dolls would disagree before they ever got started. If they ever got started. I mean, if the Ameliæ were involved, nothing would ever get accomplished.

There's a kids show in Britain called 'bits n bobs' the female character is a tad steampunk and engineers all sorts of different contraptions and then says "steam pink style" I think princess Rallee might fall into a "steampink" category. She's really awesome, her outfit is brilliant. Also what a perfect peeking picture with the grasshopper!
