Re: Cat's Dolls
It's always fun to read doll biographies! I love how much personality you have given each doll. Those obitsu bodies are great for achieving more natural poses than you can get out of the stock bodies.

Toki and Lily
My resolution this year has been to fix up my dolls one by one, the first two I have done are Lily (redbean custom) and Toki (Lunatic Rabbit). Lily didn't take much but she had a lot of glue and paint on her eye mech. Toki has had a lot of non adhesive plumbers tape applied to all his joints but is still pretty floppy and I followed Requiem arts tutorial for yellowed plastic, using hydrogen peroxide and UV light, they came up pretty well but I think his left hand needs a few more coats. Here is the photoshoot they had together.

Lily's quite elegant. She has lovely green eyes.
Sounds like you've been really busy fixing everyone up. It must feel good to make progress and see each one finished.

Toki's beautiful pocket watch is almost enough to distract me from his lovely lady friend.
Ultimately, however, when it comes to attracting attention, her charms prevail.

Re: Cat's Dolls
Nice job! The name redbean sounds familiar. Did you try tightening up the screws on him?

Echo
Next on my fix it list was Echo. She didn't need too much either, a slight neck melt issue but luckily not enough to effect the neck hole too much. She is probably the most recognized of all my Dolls and tends to be the one people are drawn to. She is a my Melody that I bought 2nd hand already in a Cat character and I kept her original name, her wig, face-up and ears have been updated since I bought her all those years ago.

Are those green cat-like eyes original? They are impressively striking!

Re: Cat's Dolls
I think they are teddy bear eyes for making bears, they are not original to my melody but her previous owner had installed them and drawn the cat-eye make-up with pencil. I kept the eyes but went over the make-up with paint. Her eyes were what attracted me to buy her!

She's cute! A perky kitty character suits her.

Re: Cat's Dolls
Everyone has been really sick the house and my ability to do much has lapsed. Luna came for a walk with us a few weeks ago and I've only just uploaded the pictured from my Camera, I didn't get many good ones this time around. She has also had new eyelashes since these were taken.
.
Violet has had some new eyes, these took over 2 months to arrive but I've been using the same seller on etsy because her eyes are lovely you can find her here: https://www.etsy.com/ie/shop/McilaShop.
She has called the little turtle George and he seems to be helping ease her shyness.

Re: Cat's Dolls
I love the Luna tree photo! I'm sorry you've been dealing with sickness. I hope everyone is on the mend.
Re: Cat's Dolls
I'm way behind sorting my photos too. As usual.
Luna's dress is cute. Violet looks like she's sitting patiently waiting for you to feel better enough to come play with her. Which I hope you will soon.
Get-well wishes!

Re: Cat's Dolls
Thank you all. It got worse! I crashed the car on Saturday. No one was hurt thankfully but I am housebound until further notice. You would think this would give me more hobby time but the little people are playing up out of boredom and I am exhausted.

Thank you it was a bit scary but more stressful with the aftermath of dealing with insurance companies etc.

Sid, Hypnotics and Ash
Sid is my little punk boy. He is the older brother to Ash. They both grew up in a middle class background with very conservative parents who gave them the traditional names of Sidney and Ashley, after their father left, their mother heavily indulged causing Ash to leave and live with her brother. Sid is married to Hypnotica, my hybrid begoth doll. Their relationship caused quite a stir in the begoth community. Luckily Ash is not a jealous Dal and has taken to Hypnotica fiercely. Probably because she sees her as more caring and maternal than her own mother. Its fairly obvious that Sids punk style has been a big influence on his little sister.
Sid.
Hypnotica.
After over a year in storage boxes Ash and Sid are excited to be reunited.
As are Hypnotica and Sid.

Thanks for looking.

Re: Cat's Dolls
Oh no! I missed this post, about the car crash! So sorry to hear. (Been there done that too.) I'm glad you are OK and hope that things are going a little more smoothly for you by now.
What strange lives dolls have, I thought, reading about being reunited after over a year in storage boxes!
They certainly all do look like a family.

Re: Cat's Dolls
Once I had Ash and Sid all dressed up to go to a punk exhibition near where I lived, I never made it though. Then I moved back in with my parents for awhile and when I unpacked my dolls I could find either of them anywhere, I was heartbroken for months. Then one day in an empty box right outside my room they both showed up, arms linked still ready to go out. It was my most toy story moment!
Thank you for the messages of support, I am slowly getting used to this busing it business for awhile until its all sorted with the insurance.
Hypnotica is flattered to be noticed.

Re: Cat's Dolls
I'm sorry. I missed the part about the car crash. That's unfortunate.
I can relate. After driving 2400 miles across the country, I managed to crash my car in to a fence post within 100 feet of my house. The car still runs, fortunately, but has a badly dented fender. Now it looks like one of those junky cars you see parked around the edges of the Walmart parking lot, or abandoned alongside the road.
The story about finding the long-lost dollies together in an otherwise empty box is fun and mysterious and... almost supernatural!

Re: Cat's Dolls
It was rather surreal, I mean I can think of several perfectly reasonable explanations of how they ended up outside my room... but I prefer to ignore the reasonable explanations in favour of magical dolly adventures.
Right outside your house! That's a shame. I did manage to drive mine home again but I probably shouldn't have, bits were falling off on the way
