That first pic of Caramello looks like my mom in her younger days!

Heart Macaron
If you enjoy my doll names, these are the best!
Hildeburh, Hnaef, and Brunhilde

I tried a bunch of chips in Brunhilde - these were a look!

(Heart Macaron is named Brunhilde because those teeth make me think of Bugs Bunny, and Bugs Bunny once portrayed Brunhilde, alongside Elmer Fudd, in the cartoon What's Opera, Doc?.)

I love the trail of arcane reasoning that led to Brunhilde's name!

I use whatever excuses I can to get my dolls in the library curio cabinet.

Noira - cute name!
So she digs the black & white "noir" or "goth lolita" style, but she can't help herself going with the pretty, girly pink makeup and blusher, is that it? Or she wants to be goth and edgy and dark but she's so cute she can't quite pull it off?
It's a fun look and a fun name!

Thanks! I don't remember when/how I acquired Mull's wig, but I love it too.

I don't know what I love more Mull's dresses or her hair! She's beautiful as is Noira! I could look at your pictures all day.

Aw, thank you!
Hina Ichigo is the Dal who brought me to the fandom, so she holds a special place for me. This is Hephzibah (named for the little girl in Silas Marner).

Re: A doll as often as I get around to posting..... 2022-2023
Hephzibah from Silas Marner, not to be confused with Hepzibah, the spinster lady in The House of the Seven Gables, right?
I suppose I am literarily remiss in not having read Silas Marner. All I know of the story is that it is, or at least was once, considered to be a "classic of literature," and that when I was a little kid, a high school age babysitter who occasionally watched over my brothers and me when we were wee lads mentioned having to read Silas Marner in one of her classes. How odd it is that we remember weird, random things from when we were six or seven years old: I recall asking her what the book was about, possibly wondering, being myself in first or second grade, about the mysteries far-distant high school would hold. Her reply was memorable to me: "I don't know, but it's really boring."
Is Silas Marner boring? Is it something I should read in order to consider myself "well-read?"
Is it on my list of "100 Fiction Novels to Read"?
Where did my list go? I had an "annotated list" online... somewhere... on which I had checked off what I had completed. Of course, the only item on the list I had completed was The Prose Edda by Snorri Sturluson.
{insert elapsed time here}
Okay... so I'm back, after about 20 minutes of searching my computer for my reading list, searching my computer for web page passwords, updating website software, and re-uploading my 100 Great Novels to Read list, which you can now see here.
Or you can see the list here on a page from my LJ site, which I managed to track down just now. Goodness, I compiled that list nine years ago after some weeks of effort. The LJ entry describes the process through which I went to compile the list.
Silas Marner is on the list at No. 28, as a possibility: The Mill on the Floss or Silas Marner, it sez. (Or Silas Marner alone on the LiveJournal version.)
I look at the reading list, then I look at your picture of Eppie, and I think playing with dolls is prolly gonna be more fun than reading "classics."
Have you actually read Silas Marner, or do you just "know things" because of your career in the library field?

Re: A doll as often as I get around to posting..... 2022-2023
I have read Silas Marner, AND I know things because I'm a librarian.
I actually quite enjoyed both Silas Marner and Mill on the Floss, and there is a decent adaptation of Silas Marner starring Ben Kingsley that is quite entertaining.

I have no idea what Silas Marner is but I named one of my more recent dolls Silas I have to go and google it, and also show some pictures of Silas in here, too.
Hephzibah however is adorable! I love that eye and wig combination on her.

Thanks! Silas Marner is a bit of a mystery story with a moral of love being more important than gold.
Dina (Drta's wig plus Hina Ichigo Dal equals Dina) is my Star Trek Dal. She's wearing a vintage Uhura outfit from the 1970s.

I'm actually jealous of your Job and your cabinet of curios! I haven't read it either, I used to consider myself well read but recently I am realising I am not out with certain genres... Maybe I should make a list of 100 books to read! I'm going to need bigger bookshelves. I have a friend who is a pullip collector who would adore Dina's star trek uniform, I am not a trekkie but I appreciate it any way!

Those Star Trek uniforms are fantastic! Are they from Barbie sets or something else? I can't believe how well that red uniform fits on a Dal body!
Ah, Tiberius! I remember the days when that was truly "insider geek knowledge." If I recall correctly, the name was revealed in full in one of the animated Star Trek episodes.

The uniforms are cute. So... you could do photostories for both LOTR and Trek with just a few more dolls!!
Wow, that's quite a list. I've read a few, but most were quite a long while ago. Your list is missing T.E. Lawrence's "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" -- if you like history and adventure stories. He was a tremendously articulate writer, and whether or not all of the story is exactly true, it's still an interesting read.
(P.S. I enjoyed your river-rafting story!)
Well I at least have the book, I think, somewhere in the shelf of parents'/grandparents' books... I have never read it either, although TrueFan's description makes it sound less boring than I also kind of had the idea it was.davidd wrote:is Silas Marner boring? Dina's outfit is from the Mego Uhura:

The other one came from some sort of 12 inch Sulu. Not a Mattel product.
