Re: davidd's A DOLL A DAY 2024
I read an article where someone called ChatGP Automated Plagiarism, and I think that's about right. If no one writes anything new, then all we'll have going forward is regurgitation of stuff already written.

Yeah, but with 8-billion people in the world now, not to mention all the years of history, pretty much everything that can be said has probably been said. "Creativity" is just putting stuff together in ways that might be new or clever, which is what the AI does.
Maybe the "new" creativity is learning how to fine-tune prompts for AI to generate desired results.
Of course, AI only generates content that works on screens or devices: video screens and music players, for example. AI text can be printed as books or other "hard copy" I suppose. (It is already printed as newsletters and magazines -- I know a few people who work in various content generation capacities who use AI to crank out filler articles.) If we want to see something "live" (without electronic supplementation or amplification) we can largely avoid AI.

Re: davidd's A DOLL A DAY 2024
I like the "automated plagiarism" label.
"There is nothing new under the sun"... but I think creativity at its best puts the stuff together with some emotion or heart or soul or whatever you want to call it -- some humanity. Not just slapping words and images together following grammar formulae or computer code.
As somebody who actually writes articles, and edits them, and has to look up details and background myself, and proofreads aloud before sending, I think any automated-content-generators that cross my path will be shot on sight

I said on Dolly Market, and will here, that I really think we need a dinosaur jousting match

Hahahaha, love the jousting photo!
Nice details in the bar. You almost wouldn't know that's miniature.

This place is fun. The holes are not particularly challenging or clever, but the layout is picturesque.

I guess I'll pop this up as A Doll A Day, since I wasted my "toy time" today working on it as a response to a response on another forum:

Aviatrix is the perfect name and I love the googles. Stylish in steampunk! The bit about baby sitting made me laugh. You should watch a show called "The doll factory" it was about the Pre-Raphaelites and also dolls!

Re: davidd's A DOLL A DAY 2024
What a lot of work, just in making the posters, let alone the rest of it!
I've got to make some posters for a photo idea, and all I have to do is find some pictures and print them, but that seems like a lot of effort!

Re: davidd's A DOLL A DAY 2024
There used to be a really good website called Jim's printable minis and you could print all sorts of props in all sorts of scales. I miss that website. You know your sets are so detailed when I first started following you on Flickr I thought you owned a bar as part of your business before I realised it was doll scale.

This one! I thought you rented tipis out to people and then they could come and drink here.

I've wanted to construct a "home tiki bar" for a long time, but space, finances, resources, and ability have limited me to miniature dollhouse versions.

Mocking up the posters using Plasq Comic Life is pretty easy. That's what I use. I found an online AI image generator to create an image of mutant piranhas to use in the background.

Aw, that’s too bad about the deterioration. I am kind of intrigued with these seamless figures but would not want to invest if they aren’t going to last long.

That stinks about the deterioration.

Yeah, only about five more weeks in Florida, then start the drive to Utah.
I've had a number of conversations with members on various forums. Quite a few people have experienced degradation of the seamless figures, but it usually seems to be one or two figures out of an entire collection rather than something that afflicts all seamless figures. Some people report it happening within the first year. Others have seen issues develop after three or more years. Some report having numerous seamless figures that are up to ten years old that exhibit no problems. I guess it's akin to "neck melt" or "yellowing" with Pullip dolls. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.
