Is that one of those solar-powered hula dolls?  Looks like the same package as mine.  Bought it in the remains of the International Marketplace.  The seller was sooooo nice and we talked for ages about how he wanted to write his memoirs for his children.

When I was living in Hawaii, I had a neighbor who would almost never emerge from his house in the daylight hours, only at night. He would come over to my house at like 11pm or midnight and holler questions through the window. I began to wonder if he was a vampire, so... yes, seriously... I got some garlic cloves and hung them around the windows. I didn't say anything about it, I just did it.

The guy stopped coming over. It was weird. It went from a several times a week thing to nothing as soon as I hung up the garlic.

Yes, it is a solar powered hula doll from Hawaii. I found it in a box of cards and leis and gifts my co-workers gave me on my last day at the elementary school before I moved. I need to put her out in the sunshine and see if she wakes up.

Yeah... now that you mention it, that run-down robot pic is looking unintentionally autobiographical.

Triv and Janie remove plastic windows from a doll-scale diorama room box. The windows are too reflective and shiny for photo purposes, and need to be either replaced with a different material or somehow "dulled down" to reduce glare issues.

A Flickr friend... I am truly blessed to have wonderful Flickr friends... noted that the picture I posted yesterday of this Rocketeer rocket man action figure made it appear that the poor fellow had eaten too many spicy beans at supper. The rocket pack he wears on his back was not entirely evident.

So here's a side view offering a better angle on the rocket pack.

However, now that the explosively gaseous nature of this figure when attached to the included fiery display base has been made apparent to me, I find it impossible to see it in any other way.

This one's headed for the eBay bin.

I spotted these miniature Harry Potter character figures in Walmart today. They're kinda cute. I was tempted. But I already have too much stuff.

They cost about ten dollars for a 2-pack, five dollars for single figures, and there's a twenty dollar set that includes a fireplace diorama and two figures.

I don't know why the photo is jaggy and blurry. This stupid Samsung phone camera is supposed to have, like, the best camera ever in the history of mobile devices. What a bunch of hype.

This just made me laugh. The mainstream media is always carping about "the obesity epidemic" while simultaneously trying to give us all mental breakdowns by criticizing us for "body shaming" and at the same time pushing medication for high blood pressure, sleeplessness, and digestive issues. Then I walk in to the store and see this: Lucky Charms marshmallow breakfast cereal pancake mix. And, hey, while we're at it, let's stop pretending that eating has anything whatsoever to do with nutrition or health and go full-on with a candy bar pancake mix.

Are the Harry Potters of a size to play with the Pinkys?
The little princesses look like they might be kinda cute.  I think I might have passed some in a Canadian Walmart?
And Lucky Charms are basically a candy bar in a bowl too, aren't they...?  (I confess I have never eaten them!)
...I thought mainstream media had given up on the obesity epidemic since they found out it was easier to scare people about having anyone breathing within 6 feet of them.

I've been tempted by the larger Harry Potter dolls in that line but so far have resisted.

Six feet... or two meters? Those couple of extra inches or centimeters could make a difference! Yes, the obesity epidemic seems to have taken a back seat to browbeating us about body shaming.
